What's your favorite radio station, past or present?
Definitely a tie between the Seattle radio stations KEXP and KUOW depending on whether I want music or information. I'll continue listening to them over the internet long after I leave this city.
It's so refreshing to listen to KEXP, a hip independent radio station that plays good music and is member supported so you aren't forced to listen to either horrible commercials or lowest common denominator, corporate mandated playlists. Everyone there clearly loves music, not just hearing themselves talk. Plus check out their song of the day: free music, every day.
KUOW is a pretty standard public radio station, but it's one that is done really, really well and with a bit more of an edge than you might expect form public radio. They've got a good mix of local, national, and international news with some social and arts interests thrown in, and they've got a much more youthful vibe than most other public radio stations that I've listened to (or maybe I'm just getting older).
How did you pick your Vox name? Does it mean something?

My Vox name is my name... Having such a common name, I always greedily horde it when I can manage to get it. Usually every combination of my real name is taken. That's also why I use my middle name. Even with my middle name it doesn't narrow things down much. Basically I'm just not creative enough to come up with a good pseudonym, so I stick with the name I've already got when I can.
I've put up a "Seattle Fall" photo gallery is up at Tapirtype.
